For starters, I suggest working through this tutorial:


Profile Drawing Exercise
-How to approach the daunting task of drawing the human face in profile. The good news is, you can do it! You just need to start with three simple lines. The bad news is, that art store you frequent is going to get even more of your money...

If you work through that, I believe you will find that all your other art will improve as well. Getting good at portraits requires so much practice, you won't be able to help improving. lol.

Just remember to be patient with yourself and buy plenty of materials (if at all possible) so you don't subconsciously avoid "using them up" and thereby cheat yourself out of valuable practice.

I believe this will help you. Check back afterwards and we can work on general anatomy next, if you like, okay?
